What is Aluminum Jacketing with Polysurlyn Moisture Barrier(PSMB)?
Aluminum jacketing with polysurlyn moisture barrier(PSMB) is a composite protective material for industrial pipes, equipment and building facilities. It is made of aluminum jacket and Polysurlyn moisture barrier by hot pressing.
The outer aluminum jacket is usually made of 1060, 3003, 5005 aluminum alloy, and the surface can be embossed, mill finish or smooth finish. The inner layer polysurlyn moisture barrier is a pinhole-free sealing barrier that provides an excellent protective layer Worthwill's standard polysurlyn moisture barrier has a thickness of 60 - 200μm and is made of polyethylene and DuPont surlyn.
Polysurlyn Moisture Barrier Composition
- Polyethylene: e.g., HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE.
- Surlyn Resin: The core component of the Surlyn film.
- Adhesive: Enhances the bond between polyethylene and Surlyn resin.
- Additives: Such as antioxidants, light stabilizers, and plasticizers.
Features and Benefits
- Excellent adhesion
- Good airtightness
- Outstanding corrosion resistance
- Waterproof

Types of Aluminum Jacketing with Polysurlyn moisture barrier

Stucco Embossed Jacketing with Polysurlyn moisture barrier
The surface of the outer aluminum jacket is embossed, and the embossing depth is usually 0.08-0.4mm, and the maximum can reach 1.2mm, with orange peel texture, pebble texture, hammer texture, etc.

Smooth Aluminum Jacketing with Polysurlyn moisture barrier
As the name suggests, the smooth aluminum jacket and polysurlyn moisture barrier are compounded by hot pressing, which is economical.
